Most iPhones have one screen. The Duo has a posture.

Apple's first foldable iPhone opens to a display 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, the biggest inner screen Apple has ever put on a phone. That scale is not just about watching video. iOS has been rebuilt around the Duo's orientations, adding side-by-side apps, hands-free FaceTime, and flexible viewing angles that treat the hinge as a stand rather than a seam. Fold it halfway and prop it on a table; the software already knows what to do with that shape.

The camera system runs three sensors at 48 megapixels each: a Fusion Main, a Fusion Ultra Wide, and a 12MP Center Stage front camera on the outer shell. For calls, there is also an under-display FaceTime camera behind the inner screen, capable of 1080p video, so nothing interrupts the full canvas when someone calls. The A20 Pro chip inside is the same one in the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, meaning no performance concession was made to fit the folding chassis.

Battery life splits depending on which screen is in use: 44 hours of video playback on the outer display, 31 hours on the inner. The Duo drops physical SIM support entirely, relying on eSIM only. That is a meaningful commitment: the internal space saved by removing the SIM tray is part of how Apple made this form factor work at all.
