About
The F-2 has six compartments and six pockets, all inside a bag whose interior measures 11 x 8.5 x 6.5 inches. That is a lot of partitioning for a shoulder bag of that size, and it is how Tiffen says the F-2 holds one or two DSLRs, four to six lenses and a flash.
The ordinary camera bag is a moulded or foam-lined box. The F-2 works differently. Its interior uses adjustable hook-and-loop dividers, so the layout is set by the kit being carried and not by the bag. Swap a lens for a flash and the dividers move. The padded bottom is removable too, which leaves the base open to reconfigure or take out entirely when the bag is carrying something other than cameras.
The fabric is canvas coated with wax and oil. Tiffen's own features list calls it water-resistant cotton canvas, which is a fair description of what a wax coating does: it sheds water but is not a sealed barrier. The main flap closes with adjustable closures, so the fit can be tightened or loosened depending on how full the bag is.
Carrying is handled by a gripper shoulder strap, designed to resist sliding, and a removable hand carry strap. The F-2 is made in the USA, and it is sold in an unusually long list of finishes: Black, Olive, Sand, Ripstop Nylon, Denim, two Ruggedwear colours, Camouflage and Basketweave Olive.
