About
The Chipolo Loop is a rechargeable tracker that reports to Apple Find My on an iPhone or to Find Hub on Android, so one tag serves either kind of phone. Chipolo is based in Trbovlje, a small Slovenian town, and the Loop won a Red Dot award in 2025.
Most tracking tags run on a coin cell that has to be bought and swapped when it dies. The Loop has a built-in rechargeable battery instead, topped up over USB-C. A charger is not supplied, so a cable already in a drawer does the job. The battery is listed at roughly a year per charge, which makes recharging an annual chore and not a weekly one.
Attachment is handled by a flexible silicone loop that is part of the tag. There is no separate ring or hole to thread a cord through, so it goes straight onto a bag strap, a zip pull or a set of keys. The tag is rated IP67, which covers a dunk in a puddle.
Finding it is done by sound. The speaker is listed at approximately 125 dB, loud enough to locate a tag buried in a rucksack or down the back of a sofa. The Chipolo app adds free extras such as Call Your Phone, which reverses the search: press the tag and the phone rings.
For a sense of the family, the Chipolo Card shares the Loop's specifications apart from Qi wireless charging and measures 2.5 mm thick. Bluetooth range for the Loop is up to 120 m in the open, and it is the loop and the loud speaker, not the range, that decide where this one is useful.
