TP-7 Field Recorder
About
TP-7 is a palm-sized digital recorder that reimagines the tape machine for the smartphone era. A machined aluminium body houses a spinning stainless-steel wheel used for scrubbing, cueing, and speed-ramping audio with physical tactility. Three stereo mini-jack ports accept microphones or line signals, each routable to six track lanes captured at 24-bit 48 kHz.
A built-in MEMS mic and speaker handle voice memos, while Bluetooth and USB-C enable lossless transfer, iOS transcription, and class-compliant audio interface duties. The internal 128 GB memory stores days of multitrack content, and a quick-charge lithium battery offers seven hours of continuous recording.
Magnetic backplates permit belt-clip or desk-dock mounting; a single recessed button marks time stamps for interview notes. Whether archiving field ambience, capturing podcast sessions, or sampling vinyl directly from a turntable, TP-7 delivers pro-level fidelity in a device that looks more like a design award winner than studio hardware.
