CM-15
About
Housed in a bead-blasted aluminium shell not much larger than a credit-card reader, the CM-15 brings true large-diaphragm condenser performance to the Field series. At its core is a studio-grade, 1-inch electret capsule floating on an internal rubber suspension to tame handling noise. The pick-up pattern is super-cardioid, giving the mic focused directionality for dialogue, vocals, or on-location ambience while rejecting room spill.
A class-A pre-amplifier and 24-bit / 48 kHz ADC are built in, so CM-15 can stream lossless audio straight over USB-C to a laptop, tablet, or OP-1 field without any interface. For traditional rigs, a mini-XLR jack accepts 48 V phantom power, and a 3.5 mm line-out feeds recorders, cameras, or TX-6 mixers. Flick the three-position gain switch (+18 / 0 / –18 dB) to match quiet foley or loud guitar cabs, then monitor levels on the discreet side-LED.
Untethered work is encouraged: an internal lithium battery delivers up to 10 hours of recording; flip out the integrated kick-stand to angle the mic on a desk, or use the ¼-20 thread for boom-arm and tripod mounting. At 136 g, it drops easily into the same sling that carries your TX-6 and OP-1, forming a complete field-production ecosystem.
Minimalist industrial styling, broadcast-quality specs, and all-in-one connectivity make the CM-15 a rare intersection of Scandinavian design object and professional recording tool.
