About
The Blueair Blue Signature clears a 705 ft² room in 12.5 minutes, and at its top rate it handles up to 3,385 ft² in an hour. That works out at 4.8 air changes per hour in the room it is recommended for.
Air passes through seven stages of filtration. A pre-filter takes the first pass, then HEPASilent filtration captures at least 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.1 microns. OdorFence Technology deals with gases: it captures common odour molecules and breaks them down, which a particle filter alone cannot do. The clean air delivery rate is 450 cfm for pollen, 434 cfm for dust and 455 cfm for smoke. The filter design is patent-pending, and the purifier ships with one pre-filter and one Particle & Carbon filter.
Control is split between the machine and the room. Speeds run 1 to 4, plus Auto and Night, and integrated air sensors feed the Auto mode. Wi-Fi allows remote control. The touchscreen stays dark until motion wakes it, then shows air quality and adapts to the user's preferences.
Running costs are modest for the volume of air moved. Energy use ranges from 3.5 W to 42 W, so the gap between a quiet overnight setting and a full-speed clean is wide, and the sensors decide where in that range it sits.
