The Midland
About
The Midland is a modern carabiner that distills everyday carry into a single, elegant gesture. Machined from stainless steel or anodized aluminum, it combines strength with a refined aesthetic that feels more crafted than manufactured. The proportions are balanced, the edges soft, and the motion of the gate smooth and deliberate.
Unlike typical carabiners, the Midland uses a dual-compartment design that separates your keys from the attachment point. This prevents scratches and tangles while keeping everything aligned. The spring-loaded gate opens with a clean click and closes with silent assurance. There are no exposed screws or rivets, only the clean lines of precision machining.
Every detail has been considered. The flat profile sits flush against clothing or bags, and the brushed finish resists wear without losing texture. The black-coated steel version feels understated, while the brass variant develops a beautiful patina over time. It’s built to last, gaining character rather than age.
The Midland reflects The James Brand’s approach to design: reduce, refine, and execute perfectly. It transforms a simple piece of hardware into something worth noticing. It pairs naturally with other James Brand tools and accessories, completing a cohesive, purposeful carry setup.
This is what happens when utility meets restraint. The Midland is strong enough for daily use and beautiful enough to belong beside your most considered essentials.
